Carol Gee has worked in higher education for over 24 years. With a masters degree in Human Relations and Management coupled with undergrad degrees in sociology and psychology, she trained as a Gestalt Therapist counseling adults and children in a mental health setting for several years. However her first love has always been writing. She likens her books and columns to be like 'therapy but without the couch'. Also a freelance writer with an emphasis
on the human condition as well as business her work has appeared
in such venues as Romantic Homes Magazine (a national magazine);The Emory
Report, a faculty/staff periodical; Women’s News and Narratives a periodical
of The Women’s Center at Emory; Goizueta Magazine and Knowledge@ Emory
(both periodicals of Emory Business School) and Swing Magazine (an Atlanta
Magazine for Baby Boomers) Snippets of her work frequently appear in the
Atlanta Journal/ Constitution (Reader invited contributions). Her thoughts
on “aging smart” in regards to living your dream, appears in the recently
released baby boomer book, AGE SMART-Discovering the Fountain of Youth
at Midlife and Beyond, Pearson/Prentice Hall Publishers (agesmartbook.com).
She is a Viet Nam era veteran who served nearly eight years on active duty in the Air Force and fifteen years in the USAF Reserves, retiring after twenty one years of military service. She is married to a retired service man, and a career hospital food service manager. The two met in the service and they have been married for 33 years. They reside in Stone Mountain, Georgia. |
